Forget Me Knot Photography

I have not blogged in a very long time. September 10 my husband lost his battle with cancer. He was 30 years old. It is such a struggle everyday to try to function without him. Every time I look at our children I want to lose it. Everyone says that time makes it easier. Maybe in the long run that's true. Right now it feels like the weight of my heart grows heavier every day without him here to bring it light. I have never so desperately missed anyone in my life.

I really am! Things have just been busy but not exciting enough to share! I love these turkeys, but man am I ready for school to start!!!!!

I went in my room to get my pajamas on and this is what I found



The son had a long day today and wanted to watch some sports with his dad while he waited for his sister to get out of the shower so they could go to bed (because it's "not fair" if they don't go at the same time). Didn't take long for him to crash and I am not going to try to carry all 60+ lbs of him up the stairs to his room! There's air conditioning in the living room anyway!

I'll try to post again in the next couple days. I have some baby pictures to post from a shoot! Hooray!

But our family sure does make cute babies. Yesterday I watched my 2 nieces and snapped a few shots of them. These girls are absolutely adorable!
I can't believe this little girl just turned 4! Isn't her hair beautiful?





And this one is almost 8 months old! Over the last few years I have gotten rid of all my baby toys so I had to give the poor kid measuring cups and a spatula to play with. She seemed to like them though.





It seems like it was just a few weeks ago that she looked like this!






In other news, I FINALLY made a new logo and I LOVE it!!! I think that it is absolutely perfect for me! I have to give a big shout out to the ladies at 2 peas for all their input. They helped me turn my initial idea, that I really liked, into something that I am completely ecstatic with! Now I can finally order some business cards and fliers and get this show on the road!

Things have been a little busy here. Friday I had a newborn shoot. I am not entirely sure how it went. He was absolutely adorable and absolutely not going to sleep! I was there for 2.5 hours. I hope that I got at least a couple shots that his parents will like. I have to start going through them.
Yesterday I went out for a couple of hours with hubbys cousins kids who are absolutely adorable. I have tons of those to go through too!
Here is one that I did of my friends sister the other day. We went out for a faux senior shoot (she's only going to be a junior next year). It was fun. This was by far the start shot of the day. I LOVE it!!!





And here are a couple of shots of my son that I was playing around with tonight. He is such a boy, but I love him!

The man has been in and out of the hospital the last two weeks getting chemo and then he got hit with an infection and has been in since Wednesday. I will try to get some pictures up in the next couple days though. I still haven't shown off my little mother's day haul from the kiddos!

About a month ago my dad was here for a visit. It was nice. He lives almost 3 hours away so we don't see each other much, but the kids and I all love when grandpa comes to visit. Yesterday the son and I had a short little conversation about grandpa that went something along the lines of:
"Mom, don't you wish grandpa lived with us?"
"Well, that might be nice honey, but why?"
"Well, if grandpa lived with us then he could clean the bathroom sink and I wouldn't have to do it anymore."
I had to crack up a little at that. The bathroom sink is usually the son's job, but the last time my dad was here he helped us do some cleaning one morning and he did the bathroom for me. It's funny the things that kids will remember!
So, these are some pictures that I took during grandpa's visit. You can see the difference between my children when you look at the storyboards. The daughter LOVES having her picture taken and posing it up, the son wants nothing to do with it! He is such a booger.
